上週在一連串的emails聯絡下,把我們今年的滑雪之行給敲定了.我跟Josh, Adam, and Julie原班人馬將要再次回到Big Sky去渡假.痛痛快快的享受在Rockies滑雪的滋味.我們在那邊的住宿Julie會安排.而我們四人的機票也各自預定了.而昨日我也把我的skis 送去ski shop作調整跟上腊.我這次要把我的binding設在Expert等級.我想,經過了去年的歷練,我應該可以把binding設的緊一些.這樣我在進行高速下滑的時候,對我的binding信心會更大一些. 不過老實說,binding像一把雙刃劍,設定太鬆(smaller number),Binding會在你可以挽回即將摔倒的狀況時,背叛你而脫離ski,而設定太緊,則可能在你無法控制skis時,而讓你的boots仍連結在skis上,導致雙腳太晚脫離skis,導致雙腳扭傷的風險.而中間的分界在哪呢?說實在的,我也不知道,就像滑雪一樣,如果你不挑戰自己的極限,你將永遠不知道how good or how bad you are. 我知道我去年handle Big Sky的Black Diamond了.我可以確信我已經跨進了Ski Expert的行列了,於是,今年就要skiing like an expert.就毅然決然的請ski shop將我的ˊski binding設在expert. I will see if I am there being a real expert skier when I hit the slope. 現在光是想到就開始興奮起來了,我跟Josh, Adam, and Julie聊到滑雪的計畫時,每個人都興奮不已.彷彿那作Lone Peak已經在眼前了.Julie更是常常夢到她在滑雪,我常高興起來跟實驗室的人談起滑雪的奇妙,但是我可以感覺出他們就是不懂,沒有體會過在那片巨大的雪坡上,隨心所欲的向下飄逸或是狂奔的人,是沒有辦法體會的.而我們四人,則可以很快樂的分享,因為 we have been there, done that.
